FILM DRAWINGS

Pencil and graphite on paper, 2012

The Film Drawings are a strucural logic in a pseudo-scientific vein, developed to map the movements of the camera in film aside from its visual imagery. By spanning several genres of film, specific qualities become apparent. The drawings explore the dialectic of the camera as an artificial device guided by human intention. Yet they use a personal language which is itself an imperfect system as it is necessarily guided by the hand engaged in the act of drawing.
